2017 Fantasy Baseball Rankings – Batters – Week 4 Edition
For the 2nd week in a row, the Washington Nationals have stolen the fantasy baseball rankings show with another record book week. While Bryce Harper still remains one of the hottest hitters in baseball, Ryan Zimmerman absolutely stole the fantasy baseball point honors racking up 6 home runs, 13 RBI’s with a batting average of .500. In fact, Zimmerman had as many home runs as he did hits (5 singles w/ 1 double vs 6 home runs).
While Freddie Freeman, Harper and Eric Thames continue their torrid pace, Mike Trout and Paul Goldschmidt continue to climb the ladder of outstanding fantasy baseball performances with another week of consistent play. Another player destined for great things this year is Nolan Arenado who sits at #10 in the year-to-date point standings with another outstanding week.
With the first month of fantasy baseball in the books, plate appearances are now getting to a sample size where we can begin to separate the real players from the pretend players. We’re starting to see BABIP numbers creep into career and league norms while we start gaining confidence in the batting discipline numbers like walk and strikeout rates. The wOBA rates are still inflated among the top tier rankings, which indicates that the sky-high performances we’re seeing are likely to return to earth real soon.
